From the pristine volcanic soil and pure waters of the Philippines, the sugarcane, which is the heart of Tanduay Asian Rum, has thrived for thousands of years. Our sugarcanes trace their lineage from ancient wild canes making Tanduay, the original Asian Rum.

The sugarcane, which has been reported to take root in the Philippines as early as 4000BC, has flourished in the ideal weather conditions of this lush, tropical paradise.

A unique variety of sugarcanes grow in abundance throughout the Philippines. The rich soil, humid sub-tropical climate and warm rainy seasons of the country’s sugarcane capital, Negros Occidental, help cultivate the finest sugarcanes in the world.

As one of the largest sugar producing regions in the world, Bacolod, Negros Occidental is where sugar milling was established in the early 1900’s.

Juice from the sugarcane was extracted via hand or foot operated levers in the early days. With modernization, came more advanced methods of production which all ends with a 5 year aging process in charred oak barrels. In the unique environment of the Victoria’s Milling, Tanduay’s distinct character, which has become the favorite of discerning rum lovers, is cultivated.

Nose: Intriguing toasted caramel with aromas of coconut crème brulee
Body: Silky texture, medium-to-full body
Taste: Expressive flavors of vanilla, tropical fruit, and notes of clean, new oak
Finish: A subtle medley of dried tropical fruits, nuts, and a warm peppery component on the finish
Aging: Blend of multiple ages from charred oak barrels for up to 7 years

Color: Light straw. Indicative of the remaining flavor
Nose: Smooth toasted sugar nose, clean with a hint of spice
Body: Silky texture with a lightly off-dry medium body
Taste: Generous but quite elegant flavors, hints of coconut and custard
Finish: Round, smooth finish with subtle tea tannins
Aging: Blend of multiple ages from charred oak barrels for up to 5 years
